35 - Tuscarawas Knocks-Off Dover St. Joseph's 41-17 (3-7-35)

Tuscarawas Broncos Senior forward Ralph Moore scores 12 points in win over Dover's St. Joseph's Ramblers.

Tuscarawas Broncos Senior center Earl Schumacher matches teammate Moore for game honors with another 12 points to secure win.

DOVER - The Tuscarawas Broncos (4-0) banged away from the start.  Twelve points were scored in 6 minutes before the Dover St. Joseph's Ramblers dropped in its 1st field goal.  Moore and Schumacher led the field with 12 points each (4 field goals and a same number of free throws) (3 field goals and 6 free throws) as the Tusky machine clicked with seldom-interrupted smoothness.  At times the Broncos were a bit erratic, but they had little trouble holding a wide margin which became even gibber in the last quarter when St. Joseph's failed to score a point.  Tuscarawas set up a close guard which combined with fast breaking to the basket resulted in the scoring of 13 field goals, while the Ramblers tallied just six.  Out of 16 free tosses, St. Joseph's made 5, while Head Coach Charmis Davis' champions made 15 out of 21.

The Broncos ran out to a 15-6 first quarter lead and never looked over their shoulders.  By the half, Tusky was sitting on an 18-10 lead.  They then had stampede to a 31-10 lead ending the 3rd quarter.  During the 4th stanza, Tusky was totally in charge with an overwhelming defense that held the Ramblers scoreless, while the Broncos put up an additional 10 points and put the game squarely in their pocket.

Forward Lab, Dover St. Joseph's high scorer hit the nets for 8 points (3 field goals and 2 free tosses), followed by teammate guard Hartz with 5 markers (2 field goals and 1 free throw).  Four Ramblers...center Bambeck, Hartz, forward Snyder and guard Endres...were ejected from the contest for having 4 personal fouls.
