35 - Strasburg Slams Mineral City 37-14 (3-2-35)









DOVER - The Strasburg Tigers (2-1) (31-6) entered the Consolation final by defeating the Mineral City Tigers (1-2) (6-14) 37-14 in a semi-final contest on Saturday afternoon in the Tiger Den at Legion Hall.  Strasburg ran up a 10-2 lead in the opening quarter and breezed to the championship Consolation berth without looking back.  They increased their lead by 9 points at the end of the 2nd quarter 16-7.  Strasburg started the 2nd half the same way they started the game and were out in front by 16 points when the 3rd quarter whistle sounded 27-11,  Another 10 points for Strasburg and another 3 points for Mineral City and this game was in the can.

Strasburg was led by Senior guard Adrian "Fuzz" Miller, as he did in all games previously played in this tournament, picking up 14 points (3 field goals and 8 free throws) this time.  Senior forward Bill "Doodle" Haas followed up his teammate with another 10 points (5 field goals).  Forward Louis Smitley led Mineral City with 4 points (1 field goal and 2 free throws).
