35 - Strasburg Tigers Wins 2nd Annual Consolation Tournament (3-2-35)
DOVER - The Strasburg Tigers (3-1) (32-6), recovering from the blows of the Tuscarawas Broncos in a semi-final, showed some of their oldtime strength and power in turning back the Midvale Blue Devils (4-2) (14-9) in their 1st Consolation Championship win 27-16. Led by Senior Adrian "Fuzz" Miller, lanky guard who collected 15 points (6 field goals and 3 free throws), the Tigers took the lead in the 2nd period and held it the remainder of the game. The Blue Devils led 6-1 in the opening period, but Strasburg rallied and led 9-8 when the quarter ended. They were ahead 18-9 at the half and 23-11 at the close of the 3rd stanza.
While Miller of the Tigers took game honors, his teammates, Seniors center George Denzer and forward Jim Dreher followed up with 5 and 4 points (2 field goals and 1 free throw and 1 field goal and 2 free throws). Midvale was led by guard Delbert Keffer with 4 points (2 field goals).
