DOVER - Head Coach Charmus Davis' Tuscarawas Broncos (2-1) (3-12) were peppy in their 1st Consolation game, turning back the feeble offerings of Head Coach Harold Young's Port Washington Purple Riders (1-2) (3-9) with little difficulty and winning 31-10. The Purple Riders were helpless before the Bronco attack which Junior center Earl Schumacher led with 10 points (5 field goals). Junior guard Ken Tschudy was 2nd high for Tusky with 7 points (2 field goals and 3 free throws.
Senior guard Lewis Decker was responsible for 7 of the Port Washington marks (3 field goals and a free throw). While Tuscarawas stacked up its points, the Purple Riders were able to get 5 points in the 1st quarter and the same number during the remaining 3 quarters. The Broncos led 11-5 in the 1st period, 17-6 at the half and 23-8 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
