34 - Stone Creek Knocks Out Baltic 21-11 (2-17-34)
DOVER - The Stone Creek Panthers (1-1) (1-2) picked up their 1st tournament win since joining the tourney last year. The Panthers eliminated the Baltic Eagles (0-2) (4-10) from further tournament play in a Consolation game with a 21-11 victory. The Eagles led the entire 1st half. Baltic took a 4-2 lead in the 1st quarter and maintained the lead in the 2nd period at 8-7. Stone Creek and Baltic were tied in the 3rd period 11-11. In the 4th and final stanza, the Panther defense took over and held the Eagles scoreless, while the Stone Creek offense was inspired to hit 10 more points.
Senior forward Paul Wherley took scoring honors by snagging 7 points on 2 field goals and 3 free throws for Stone Creek, while guard Lloyd Stephan added another 6 points on 3 field goals. Baltic was led by center Glen Wingeier and guard Bob Gerber with 4 points each on 2 field goals apiece.
