34 - Flashy Dundee Defeats Mineral City 24-21 (2-23-34)









DOVER - Head Coach Glen Jone's Dundee Bulldogs (2-0) (9-11)...showing effecive passing and making good their scoring chances...took an early lead over the Head Coach Bob Mackey Mineral City Tigers (1-1) (3-11) and marched to a 24-21 victory.  They got a small margin early in the game, widened it in the 2nd period and then kept a few points ahead of the Tigers the remainder of the game.  The Bulldogs led the entire contest.  They led 6-3 in the 1st, 11-5 at the half and 15-12 at the end of he 3rd.

Mineral City collected 9 points in the final quarter in a rally that was cut short by the sweeping Dundee offense.  Senior forward Paul Baker was the spark of the Dundee passing and scoring with 8 points (4 field goals).  Sam Fetters also tallied 8 points on 2 field goals and 4 free throws.  Leading Mineral City was guard Dick Wilson who garnered 7 points, 2 field goals and 3 free throws.  Center Bill "Legs" Sattler was completely cornered by a clever 3-man close-up and held to but 1 field goal and collected another point with a free throw.  The Tigers head to the Consolation Tournament.
