34 - Gnaden Drops Bolivar 27-19 (2-17-34)
DOVER - The 1st two teams to play in the Consolation Tournament found the Gnadenhutten Indians (1-1) (14-10) eliminating the Bolivar Cardinals (0-2) (12-11) from further play with a 27-19 second half surge. The game was notted at 8-8 in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Cardinals moved ahead of the Indians by halftime 16-13. During the 2nd half, Gnaden found themselves with a comfortable 6 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Indians picked up only 4 points in the 4th quarter, but the Cardinals scored only 2 more points and found themselves out of the tournament.
Center Ira Struchen of Gnaden led all scorers with 18 points on 7 field goals and 4 free throws. Bolivar was also led by their center, Paul Class, who had his 2nd straight 13 point game in a row. He hit 6 field goals and a foul shot. No one else hit for double figures for either team.
