34 - Mineral City Edges Stone Creek 22-20 (2-24-34)
DOVER - In yet another Consolation game, the Mineral City Tigers (2-1) (4-12) edged out the Stone Creek Panthers (1-2) (1-3) by a score of 22-20. The game was a thriller in the closing minutes with each team battling for possession of the ball. A 3-point margin gained by the Tigers was shortened by only 1 point in the last 2 minutes as Stone Creek scored a free throw. Center Bill "Legs" Sattler sank 8 free throws and helped to lead his teammates in the win over the Panther outfit. He was on the line for 11 attempts, but failed to hit a single field goal, while still leading the Tigers in points scored. Senior forward Paul Wherley practically scored all the Stone Creek points on his own with 15 points (6 field goals and 3 foul shots) for game honors. Guard Burrier closed out the Panther scoring with another 5 points (2 field goals and a free throw).
