42 - Tusky Drops Port in the 4th Quarter 51-28 (2-19-42)









DOVER - The Tuscarawas Broncos (1-0) (16-23) put it all together in the 4th quarter to ambush the stubborn Port Washington Purple Riders (0-1) (6-24) 51-28 in the 3rd game of the tournament on Thursday night.

The Purple Riders edge the Broncos in the 1st quarter 10-9.  By intermission Tusky regained the lead by out scoring Port Washington 10 to 7...19-17 Tuscarawas.  The Broncos maintain the lead in the 3rd period by outscoring the Riders 13 to 8 as the scoreboard read 37-25.  Tuscarawas poured it on defensively and offensively in the final stanza scoring 19 points and holding Port to just 3 points as the Purple Riders headed for the showers in a losing cause.

Game honors went to Tusky's Seniors, forward Charles Myers and center Angelo Cerqui each scoring 17 points.  Senior guard Ron Goettge lead Port Washington with 11 points.  He was also benched due to personal fouls.
