39 - Strasburg Out-Lasts Gnaden 26-19 (2-18-39)
DOVER - The Strasburg Tigers (2-0) (44-9) defending District Champions, moved to their victory over the Gnadenhutten Indians (1-1) (18-20) in the 2nd and 4th periods piling up their lead there. The Indians slipped into the lead in the opening stanza with a 4-1 advantage, but the Tigers reversed the situation by outscoring the Reds 7-2 to command a 10-6 lead by halftime.
Gnaden matched Strasburg point-for-point in the 3rd period, where each team collected 7, but lost out in the final when the Tigers put on its stretch drive. Strasburg led the Indians once by 9 points, 24-15, in the final period before a belated Gnadenhutten rally netted 4 points.
Senior forward Loren Miller of Strasburg paced his team to victory, but Gnaden's Senior center Earl Crites was nudging him for individual honors with 11 points. Miller had 10 markers scored on 4 field goals and 2 free throws. Crites hit the nets with 3 field goals and 5 free throws.
