DOVER - The Midvale Blue Devils (1-0) (25-13) and the Baltic Eagles (0-1) (14-20) in the 1st game on Saturday and conducted personally by Big Bill Stevenson of Midvale, who rattled 9 action shots and 3 free throws through the hoop for 21 points, claimed an easy victory over Baltic by the tune of 54-32.

Senior center Bill Stevenson, the League's leading scorer and the lad who broke a record set by the redoubtable Frank Baumholtz at Midvale, tallied 6 of his field goals beginning in the 1st period as the Blue Devils took a 29-12 lead over the Baltic Eagles by halftime.  Midvale led 17-5 at the 1st quarter's end.  Baltic drummed up a bid in the early part of the 3rd stanza, scoring 6 points before the Blue Devils could dent the net with a single one, but then Midvale blanked the Eagles, while collecting 8 themselves.  The period ended with the Blue Devils leading 37-18.

Stevenson's 21 points gained him game honors and his teammates, forwards Frank Morrison and Bob Swinderman, had 12 and 10 markers, respectively.  Junior forward Harold Lahm paced Baltic's attack with 10 points.
