44 - Stone Creek Upsets Bolivar 36-32 (2-19-44)









DOVER - In the 2nd Consolation Game of the tournament, the Stone Creek Golden Panthers (1-1) (11-21) triumphed over the Bolivar Cardinals (0-2) (34-26) 36-32 and became the featured game when the Panthers won out in the stretch when they came from behind a 27-21 count to outscore the Cardinals 15 to 5 in the final quarter of play.  Bolivar led 10-4 in the 1st quarter, 16-8 at the half and then held a 6-point 27-21 advantage when the final chukker opened.  There forward E. Kilchenmann sparked Stone Creek into their great finish, collecting 7 points.  He hit 3 straight field goals from the center of the floor without a miss.

Behind him the Golden Panthers got ahead of the Red Birds 28-27, but the score was tied at 28, 30 and 32 before the Panthers pulled out front in the final 2 minutes on field goals by forward B. Kugler and guard R. Kugler.  Bolivar's guard Baad hit 6 field goals for honors, while Kilchenmann and B. Kugler each hit 11 points to pace the Golden Panthers.
