44 - Baltic In Easy Win Over Stone Creek 39-27 (2-24-44)

DOVER - The Baltic Eagles (2-1) (20-29) had an easy time with the Stone Creek Golden Panthers (1-2) (11-22) with a 39-27 victory in a Consolation Division contest sending the Panthers home for the season.  The key to the win appears to be Baltic's Junior guard Gene Schlarb who gained game honors by scoring 15 points.  The Stone Creek defense shutdown Baltic's scoring ace, Junior center Max Regula who scored only 11 points after burning the nets against the Gnadenhutten Indians for a grand total of 29 points in that game and Schlarb picked up the hero slack.

Baltic jumped to a 9 point lead in the 1st quarter 13-4.  The Eagles continued to slam the hoops in the 2nd quarter with another 8 points and the Golden Panthers picked up 7 points, while the scoreboard read 21-11 at intermission.  In the 3rd quarter, Baltic never let up...scoring 11 more points, while Stone Creek tried to keep pace with 9 and the score 32-20...Eagle advantage continued.  Both teams hit 7 points in the 4th stanza, but it was the Baltic fans who charged the floor with glee.

Baltic's Schlarb and Regula posted most of the teams points, while Stone Creek's forwards, E. Kilchenmann and B. Kugler led the charge in a losing cause with 11 points each.
