The 4 games waged last night before 1,312 paid fans, produced only one good contest and it resulted in St. Joseph's defeat 43-36 at the hands of Berlin.  Strasburg romped over Millersburg 67-23, Sugarcreek-Shanesville toppled Malvern 51-42 and Tuscarawas beat Carrollton 53-45 to gain the finals.

The Carrollton Warriors (5-13) unexpectedly gave the Tuscarawas Broncos (4-1) (20-5) a close run for 2 quarters, but the Broncos of Head Coach Jim Rogers pulled away in the 3rd period land won without too much trouble.  The score was deadlocked 9-9 at the end of the 1st period, but Tuscarawas managed a 3-point advantage 24-21 at intermission.  In the 3rd stanza, the offense of Tusky maned-up and score 20 points as the Warriors scored 14 points for a 9 point lead 44-35 going into the final quarter.
