DOVER - Tuscarawas County's Annual Class B High School Basketball Tournament will not include a Consolation Division bracket and as a result the County League which was suspended this year, will qualify but 2 teams for the Ohio Eastern Sectional Tournament to be held at Memorial Hall in March.

This was announced today by County School Superintendent W.E. Laws, who has been named Manager of the Tuscarawas County Class B High School Basketball Tournament.  The decision of the Mineral City Tigers High School officials not to organize a team to play in a minimun of 4 games leaves the League with but 10 members and ony 2 berths in Sectional play.

The winner and runner-up of the county meet will carry-on for the circuit in the Sectional competition.  The count meet will be held on February 19,20,26 and 27 with 3 games on each of the 1st two nights the semi-finals on the 3rd night and the finals on Saturday, February 27th.  Coaches of the 10 teams to participate will draw for positions in the meet at the offices of Mr. Laws in the court house on Monday at 7:30PM.  The coaches will decide whether to "seed" the strongest teams in the county.

Admission prices for the 4 tournament sessions will be the same as last year...30 cents for students and 40 cents for adults.
