DOVER - In the 3rd Friday night contest, the Midvale Blue Devils (0-1) (33-17), winners of several county and Eastern Ohio District Championships and the home of the inimitable Frank Baumholtz, went through the entire 1st half and almost half way through the 3rd period before scoring a field goal against the slick Gnadenhutten Indians (1-0) (30-23) (15-4) while losing to Gnaden 48-21.

Almost reeking with class, the Redskins of 2nd-Year Head Coach Ralph W. (Blondie) Gartrell, worked smoothly from the start and in the face of a Blue Devils team that fought every step of the way.  Gnadenhutten gained a 13-4 lead in the 1st quarter and expanded it to 21-6 before intermission.  Renicker, a forward, snagged Midvale's 1st action shot midway in the 3rd period and with it touched off a mild rally that enabled the Blue Devils to outscore their foes 8 to 7 in the chukker.  But, Gnaden struck back with a vengeance in the final stanza and rolled 20 points through the hoops, while Midvale was colledcting but 7 markers.

Senior center Ralph Long led the individual scorers with 12 points and his teammate, Senior forward Bill Lockett copped runner-up honors with 10 markers.  Senior forward Carl Myers was high for the Blue Devils with 9 points (2 field goals and 5 free throws.
