40 - Bolivar Crushes Stone Creek 46-26 (2-17-40)









Bolivar Cardinals Center Bud Ross collars game honors in hitting 16 points (8 field goals) in leading the Cardinals to a 46-26 thumping of the Stone Creek Golden Panthers.  Ross is currently averaging 10.5 points per game for the Bolivar cagers.

DOVER - Showing its best form in weeks and with Bud Ross dropping in 8 field goals through the net, Bolivar shook off a 1st period slump to win the 2nd Consolation Division contest going away 46-26.

The Stone Creek Golden Panthers (0-2) (5-15) raced to a 5-4 lead against the League Co-Championship Bolivar Cardinals (1-1) (24-19) in the very 1st quarter.  Bolivar, shaking off it's 1st period slump, hit for 15 points in the 2nd quarter, while the defense held the Golden Panthers to only 6 markers and the scoreboard read Bolivar advantage 19-11 at the half.  The Cardinals continued to outscore the Golden Panthers in the 3rd stanza with another 15 point effort, while Stone Creek produced 9 more markers.  Bolivar doubled their scoring effort to ice the game with 12 points, limiting the Golden Panthers to just 6, for a 20-point Bolivar win.

Bolivar was led by Bud Ross's 16 points and close behind was teammate forward Ken Oberlin with 14 markers.  Center Vic Turner of Stone Creek led his team with 7 points and guard G. Mizer followed up with 6 markers.
