57 - Games Slated For 2 Class A Consolation Division Contests








DOVER - Two semi-finalists will be decided in the Consolation Division bracket of the 35th Annual Tuscarawas County Class A Basketball Tournament as 2 games have been booked for Dover's Memorial Hall tonight.    The defending Champion Midvale Blue Devils, eliminated from the Championship bracket by the Stone Creek Golden Panthers 70-67 Thursday night, will take on the Tuscarawas Broncos at 7:30.  Midvale defeated Tusky in the 1st game of the tournament 97-55 and then the Broncos whipped the Dundee Bulldogs 97-44 to move into the quarter -finals in the consy bracket.

At 8:45 the Baltic Eagles, winner over the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates in a Consolation Division tilt 78-66 on Thursday night, will battle the Port Washington Purple Riders who was defeated in Championship play 88-63 by the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans.  Action will conclude after tonight's games, but semi-finals have been slated for next Thursday and Friday with finals on Saturday night.

The Golden Panthers will face the stiffest task next Thursday when they meet the County League Champion Strasburg Tigers, while in the other contest the powerful Gnadenhutten Indians take on the rangy Trojans.  Two Consolation games are then booked for Friday night between the winner's of tonight's games and losers of next Thursday night's tilts.  Finals in both the Championship and Consolation Division brackets will get under way Saturday at 7:30.
