46 - Midvale Slams Magnolia 51-29 (3-1-46)
DOVER - Head Coach Pete Wolf's Midvale Blue Devils (3-1) (14-7), in their initial tournament appearance, polished off the Magnolia Panthers (13-10), Carroll County Champions, easily raced to a 16-3 lead in the 1st quarter and then in the 2nd period continued the unrelenting attack with a 30-9 advantage at halftime. The offense let up somewhat in the 3rd stanza dropping in only 10 points, while the Panthers matched their point total of 10 markers for a commanding 40-19 lead going into the last quarter of play. Both teams emptied the bench with the reserves of Midvale getting another 11 points, while the Magnolia Reserves matched their 3rd quarter output of 10 markers closing out the game.
Senior forward Dave Stevenson led the Blue Devils' attack with 15 points as he won game honors, while Seniors center Max Schaar and guard Karl Baumholtz each scored 11 markers. Bob Trushel, Panther guard, was the only player to score regularly, hitting 9 points.
