DOVER - The big fast Midvale Blue Devils (1-0) (3-2) trampled the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates' game little crew (0-1) (7-5) in the 2nd evening game by 16 points. The losers were outclassed both in team play and size, but put up a game fight against the heavy odds. The Pirates were held to 1 point in the 2nd quarter, lwhile lthe winners were piling up 8, giving them a 19-3 advantage. Sugarcreek-Shanesville made only 1 field goal the entire 1st half.
Bad foul tossing cost the losers plenty of points. B. Hostetler, #5 forward, made only 4 out of 13 and the rest of the team had a poor percentage as well. Hostetler played a brilliant floor game and was so clever that Blue Devil guards fouled him often. For the winners, #10 guard Fabiano, demonstrated that he is just about one of the best guards in the tournament, despite a shoulder injury. Zucal, #6 Forward and #11 center West each made 6 baskets.
