30 - 8th Annual Tuscarawas County Class B Basketball Tournament
DOVER - It's getting tournament time! J. H. Selzer, Bolivar, county athletic official, announces the Annual Tuscarawas County Class B Tournament will be held at Dover American Legion Hall on the afternoon and evening of Friday, February 28th and the afternoon and evening of Saturday, March 1st. To the winner of the finals in the tournament will go the beautiful Daily Reporter Trophy, which has been ordered and will be placed on exhibition soon.
As an added attraction to the tournament this year is a foul shooting contest, the winner being awarded with a medal presented by Curley Benson local haberdasher. Each school will be allowed to enter 2 boys in the free threwing competition. They may be members of the team. This feature will be held at 4:30PM Saturday, March 1st. Tournament games will begin at 2PM. Three tilts will be played the 1st afternoon and a like number in the evening at 7, 8 and 9PM.
Drawings for high school team games will be made at 1:30PM Saturday, February 22nd at the county superintendent's office, New Philadelphia Court House. Earl Menk Gross one of the most capable officials in this section of the state, has been selected as the official tournament referee. Other officials have been named as follows:

Teams will not be permitted to practice or warm up except 10 minutes before the beginning of the game in which they play. Of course a team may use the intermission period of its own game on the floor if it so desires. No other team shall be on the floor at intermission. Time of playing shall be length of quarters 8 minutes, time between quarters 1 minute, intermission at half 10 minutes. Teams not ready to play at the time their games are called shall forfeit their games as well as their share of the proceeds of the tournament. Passes will be given to members of teams, coaches and principals. Such passes are not transferable and must be presented for admittance. If passes are not as presented the regular admission fee shall be paid.
Drawings for positions at the tournament will be held at the office of the County Superintendent on February 22, at 1PM. High schools interested are requested to send a representative to draw for their respective schools. Any school not represented will have someone designated by the manager to draw for it. At the time of the drawing a list of 14 players shall be submitted to the Manager. From this list 10 names shall be selected and presented to the Manager before the 1st game begins. In general the regulations as set down in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Bulletin No. 51, January 15, 1930, will be followed.
