29 - Bolivar Out-Lasts Mt. Pleasant 18-16 (3-2-29)














DOVER - The Bolivar Cardinals (4-0) eliminated the Mt. Pleasant Mounties by 2 points in the final game (game 6) of the 1st round of the Sectional Class B Tournament Saturday afternoon in one of the most thrilling games staged at the auditorium during the day.  In the last 2 minutes of the game the score read 18-16, while during the former quarters the Cardinals held a long lead over the losers.

The 1st frame of the battle ended 7-4 in favor of Bolivar.  At the half time score read 11-4.  During the 3rd period Mounties scored 11 points, while the Cardinals measurd the hoop for 5.  Mt. Pleasant scored 7 field goals during the game and the winners scored but 5 making the rest of their points on free throws.  Widder, Cardinal guard, was high for the winners with 11 markers to his credit.  Sommers, Mountie forward, scored high for the losers with 4 field goals for 8 points.
