58 - The 1958 Championship Game Rundown
DOVER - Already assured of berths in next week's Sectional Tournament at Dover's Memorial Hall, the Gnadenhutten Indians and Midvale Blue Devils collide for the County Tournament Championship tonight at 8:00. Doors will open at 7:00. And for the 1st time since 1934 there will be no Consolation Division game because there were only 9 teams in this year's tournament.
The Daily Reporter Trophy will go to tonight's winner. Other awards also are scheduled. Drawing of position for the Sectional Tournament, which opens Tuesday night, will be held on Sunday at 5:30 at Helmkamp's Restaurant under supervision of Supt. W.E. Laws, Tournament Manager. Results of tonight's game will help determine the seeded teams.
Other quintets in the Sectional will be the Dover St. Joseph Ramblers, Dennison St. Mary Blue Wave, Dennison Railroaders, Millersburg Knights, Berlin Panthers and Big Prairie-Lakeville Bulldogs of Holmes County and Malvern Green Hornets, which beat the Augusta Blue Devils 64-30 in last night's Carroll County Tournament final. The Holmes County Tournament ends tonight at Millersburg.
