THERE WILL BE A LOT of basketballs dropping through the cords at Dover's Memorial Hall before Tuscarawas County emerges with its 3 representatives for the Class B Sectional Tournament, but from the looks of things 2 of the 3 could be the seeded clubs for the Sectional which is to get underway on February 29th.  In the event the Strasburg Tigers, Midvale Blue Devils, Gnadenhutten Indians or the Port Washington Purple Riders survive the county dribble derby 2 of them might well be installed as favorites to proceed to the District Tournament.

THE SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT will be staged at Memorial Hall on February 29 and March 1,2,3 with the 3 county teams being joined by the Carroll County Champion, the winner and runner-up and exempted-village Millersburg Knights of Holmes County and the Dennison Railroaders, Dennison St. Mary Blue Waves and Dover St. Joseph Ramblers of Tuscarawas County.  Next to the Tigers, Blue Devils and Indians, the Killbuck Bucks of Holmes County and Berlin Hawks of Holmes County have the best records.  The 2 Dennison combines have losing records, while the Ramblers are above water with a 10-7 mark and one game left in the regular season.

THE DRAWING for the Sectional Tournament will be held at a dinner meeting of coaches, school officials and the press at Helmkamp's Restaurant in Dover this coming Sunday.  The dinner will be at 6:00PM and the blind draw will follow with W. E. Laws, Tournament Manager, in charge.  As in the past teams from the same county tournament will not be matched in the 1st round.  Seedings will be based on won-lost records as of February 18th.  Officials will be assigned by the District Board from a list voted upon by coaches early last fall and there will be a different set of officials each night with officials assigned not to be announced until the night they are to call'em.

ADMISSION for the Sectional Tournament will be 75 cents for adults land 50 cents for students.  There will be no Reserved Seats.  Doors will open each night at 6:30.  The 1st game each night will commence at 7:30 with the nightcap slated to begin at approximately 8:45.
