STRASBURG - Head Coach Simukka is running his Strasburg Tigers (7-0) cage proteges through light drills this week to keep them in shape for the State Class B Tournament at Columbus next Friday and Saturday. The Tigers were using the large American Legion floor for this week's practice sessions and Simukka is drilling his team mostly on breaking for the basket. The team has been handicapped all season in learning to break, because of the brick walls at each end of the Strasburg floor.
The local Class B Champions get into 1st tournament action at Columbus on Friday at 1:30PM against Marysville, Champions of the Central Division. According to tournament plans Class B games will be sandwiched between the more spectacular Class A struggles the 1st Class B game getting under way at 9AM Friday between Oberlin High School and the fast Muskingum Academy quintet from New Concord. Canton McKinley who drew East Liverpool for their opening encounter, will get into action at 8:30PM on Friday.
