28 - Marysville Tops Mighty Strasburg 26-18 (3-16-28)
COLUMBUS - Fighting valiantly, but unable to stop Wilcox, Marysville's star forward, the Strasburg Tigers (7-1), Tuscarawas County's Class B Champions , went down to defeat 26-18 in the 1st round game of the State Class B Basketball Tournament Friday at Columbus. Marysville led the local cagemen the entire route, but the Tigers gave them a battle.
Wilcox was the scoring ace for the victory with 13 points, while Senior center Paul Sundheimer led the attack for Strasburg with 3 action shots and a foul toss for 7 points. Forward Bump and center Mackan followed up with 4 points apiece and guards Brown and Mills ended the Monarchs scoring with 2 points each. Closing out the scoring for Strasburg was Senior forward Orval Deems with 6 points, Senior guard Paul Neidenthal and Senior guard Clyde Denzer each had 2 more points each and Senior Bob Miller added another point from the foul line.
