27 - Sugarcreek-Shanesville Bombs Tusky 61-7 (2-26-27)
DOVER - Saturday morning the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates (1-0) (7-1) blasted the Tuscarawas Broncos (0-1) (0-5) in a huge 54-point effort. Junior forward Harlan Sliffe set a Tuscarawas County Class B Tournament record by hitting 14 field goals and 6 foul shots for a record breaking 30 points in a single game. Sliffe was backed up by Junior Howard Gerber with 10 points, Senior Bob Neff with 8, last year's sensation, Moomaw, had 6, Renner 4, Junior Stan Miller 2 and Shonk 1 closing out the scoring for Sugarcreek. The Broncos crawled alone with Lester Moore picking up 4 points to lead the team, with Junior Bob Zorn getting 2 points and Pretorious swished a single foul shot for 1. Sliffe's field goal and foul shot totals were also a tournament record.
