27 - Strasburg Falls In 2nd Overtime To Dennison 25-20 (3-10-27)










CAMBRIDGE - The Strasburg Tigers, the Tuscarawas County Class  B Basektball Tournament winner,  gave the Dennison Railroaders a battle during the Eastern Ohio District Class B Tournament from the opening whistle until the final gun.  Dennison led 4-2 at the quarter, 11-6 at halftime, 16-11 at the 3rd quarter, but the Tigers climbed in the final minutes sto tie the score at the end.  One overtime period was not sufficient to decide the winner and a second 3 minute play was necessitated.  It was the 2nd meeting of the year between Dennison and Strasburg.  Dennison taking a 26-12 decision at Dennison during the course of the regular playing schedule.

Senior forward Leland Huth and Junior forward Orval Deems were the scoring aces for the Strasburg quintet with 8 and 4 points respectively.  Every man on the Franklin-township first team; however, sent at least one field counter through the nets.  George Hibbard and Dyson with 7 points each led the Dennison attack.
