DOVER - Port Washington Eagles (0-1) (2-7) whose stand against the Strasburg Tigers (1-0) (23-5) came near resulting in the only upset Friday in the Tuscarawas County Class B Basketball Tournament at Legion Hall, but the Tigers put on the steam in the 2nd half to cop the contest by a score of 35-25. Playing against Strasburg's 2nd stringers, the Eagles took an 8-4 advantage in the opening period. Head Coach Paul M. Roby of Strasburg replaced the Reserves with the Varsity as the 2nd period opened, but the Porters continued its march until the count stood at 15-9 in its favor. The Burgers rallied to cut the lead to 2 points as the half ended 15-13. In the 3rd period the Tigers picked up the 2 markers they trailed and commanded a 25-21 edge as the final canto started. Junior forward John "Johnny" Studer, Strasburg's ace, led the scoring with 12 points taken on 4 buckets and 5 foul shots. His teammate, Sophomore center George Denzer, was 2nd with 8 points. Senior forward Norman Glazer and Junior guard Lewis Decker led Port Washington with 6 points each.
