31 - Gnaden Gets By Tuscarawas 31-22 (2-27-31)

DOVER - The Gnadenhutten Indians (1-0) (11-6), county champions just last year, looked ragged in a 9 point victory over the Tuscarawas Broncos (0-1) (0-9) in the final Friday afternoon game of the tourney.  Missing pot-shots galore and displaying ragged pass-work, the Indians only slightly resembled the team of last season which copped The Daily Reporter Trophy of 1930.

In fact, Tuscarawas almost pulled the game out of the fire in the final quarter for Head Coach Charmis Davis when forward Mario Besozzi and guard Stan Sarpous began connecting with long heaves.  Forwards Jack Hearing and Ed Riley scored 19 of Gnadenhutten's points.  Sarpous with 8 led Tusky.
