25 - Sugarcreek Slams Dundee 44-9 (2-27-25)

SUGARCREEK - The Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates (1-0) (1-1), this year's league champions and the Dundee Bulldogs (0-1) (0-3) met in the 2nd game of the tourney.  Sugarcreek walking away with a victory.  Although, Dundee started out like a house afire, they were unable to keep up and fell by the wayside long before the end of the 1st half.  The half ended 16-8.  When Dundee began to slip they tobogganed.  A feature of this contest was the guarding of Glen Wilds, the smallest guard in the county league.  Wilds played a great game for the Bulldogs team and the score would certainly have been much closer if there had been 4 more Wilds on the Dundee team.  Center Richard Dallinden and left forward Olinger Price each tallied twice from the floor and Dallinden added a free throw for Dundee's total of 9 points.  Dundee was held without a basket during the entire 2nd half.

Sugarcreek was hitting on all five as usual and didn't seem to mind the change in basket hangings or the modification of the floor rules for the tournament.  Dan Meyers, Neff and Forrest Miller ran a three-man race to pile up points.  Meyers took high-point position with 18 points by shooting 8 goals and 2 free throws.  Neff had 6 baskets and 3 free throws for 15 points.  Forrest Miller was close behind with 5 field goals and a free throw for 11 points.  The guards Oliver Watson and Marcus Miller played the game and seldem attempted a shot.  Without doubt Sugarcreek was the best team on the floor Friday night.
