24 - Strasburg Gets By Bolivar 18-12 (2-23-24)

DOVER - In the semi-finals, the Bolivar Cardinals ((2-1) (2-2) ran the Strasburg Tigers (2-0) (5-0) a close race until the last few minutes of play, but were unabled to stand the pace, so Strasburg began rapidly drawing away from them near the end of the contest.  Strasburg won chiefly because of superior teamplay.  Bolivar scored, but 3 field goals to their opponents' 8, but Whitmer kept his mates in the running by his accurate foul tossing.  The score was tied at 8 points apiece when the 1st half ended.  Paul and Dale Shutt led the Tigers with 7 points each.  George Mizer and Randall Weber followed that up with 2 points apiece.  Whitmer led the Cardinals with 5 points...all on foul tosses.  Kinzle followed with 3 points and Garber and Mase each had 2 points to close out the scoring.
