24 - Bolivar Rocks Tuscarawas 20-17 (2-23-24)

DOVER - The Tuscarawas Broncos (0-1) (0-2) put up a mighty battle against the Bolivar Cardinals (2-0) (2-1) in the 1st game of the afternoon, but their efforts were in vain.  The Bolivar lads nosed them out after an overtime period.  At the end of the 2nd half the score was tied at 17 all, but a field goal by Whitmer and a foul by Kinzle sewed up the contest for Bolivar.  Tusky led at  the half 11 to 3.  In this game Whitmer scored 16 points, hanging up the individual record for this tournament and coming just 2 points short of the tournament high set by Jimmy Foster of Strasburg who had 18 points in 1923.
