23 - Strasburg Burns Mineral City 22-12 (3-10-23)

DOVER - The Tigers' brawl ended with one team having only one player having the ability to score for his team.  Weaver, center, made all of Mineral City's 12 points in the Semi-Final with Strasburg (2-0) in the evening.  If Weaver's teammates had shown some ability as he, Strasburg might never have won the silver trophy.  One man can not beat five.  But, Weaver did his best to make the game interesting and kept Mineral City (1-1) in contention.  Strasburg's regular team found it difficult to keep Weaver at bay.  The quarter ended 3-2 with Strasburg maintaining the edge at the half 9-6 and the 3rd quarter was increased to 12-10.  The team effort by Strasburg had every player except Van Curen scoring in the game.  But, Van Curen , also a center, had his hands full guarding Weaver.  Both teams played hard and fast basketball from start to finish.  R. Norman, a guard, gave the fans a thrill with two long low shots that went through the rim like bullets.  Foster led Strasburg with 10 points, while Donley, Weber and R. Norman picked up 4 points each.
