42 - Bolivar Blasts Baltic 40-13 (2-19-42)

DOVER - DEFENSE-DEFENSE-DEFENSE was the rallying cry of the Bolivar fans as the Bolivar Cardinals (1-0) (28-22) had a defense that held the Baltic Eagles (0-1) (17-26) to zero points in 2 separate quarters (1st and 4th) as the Cardinals picked up their game win 40-13 over Baltic in the 2nd tournament game of Thursday night...blowing the Eagles off the court.

Bolivar leaped to a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter (GAME OVER) as their defense held Baltic scoreless.  In the 2nd period, the Cardinals slipped a bit as they could only manage 4 points, while the Eagles topped them with 5 points of their own making the score show 16-5 at intermission.  Bolivar found themselves again in the 3rd stanza hitting 15 markers and limiting Baltic to just 8 points...31-13.  In the 4th, the Cardinal defense returned to ice the game by stopping the Eagles scoring completely, while adding another 9 points.

Game honors went to Junior forward Warren Klink with 11 points and his fellow cager, guard Joe Huffman followed up with 10 markers.  Baltic was led by Junior forward John Young with 6 points.
