Strasburg High School Tigers 8 Year Head Coach Paul M. Roby
DOVER - Head Coach Paul M. Roby of Strasburg High School was arrested this morning, pleaded guilty to a stern charge, was pronounced guilty and given sentence. It all happened in the Gebib Restaurant and was a complete surprise to Roby who at 7:30AM might not have been quite up on his toes.
R.C. Spidell, President of Strasburg Council, walked in and placed Roby under arrest. He read the charge of "carrying trophies into the Strasburg High School and sending out athletes to win them much to the envy of other schools." Roby pleaded guilty and up stepped Mayor W.M. Mauk who pronounced sentence in the form of handing the coach a gold wrist watch, bought by citizens in appreciation of Roby's fine work there.
Mayor Mauk suspended a $500 fine provided Roby continues to produce good teams.
