37 - Strasburg Edges Tusky 33-30 (3-6-37)

Strasburg Tigers Senior Center Ramon Renner scored 9 points (4 field goals and a free throw) in leading the Tigers over the Tuscarawas Broncos 33-30.

Tuscarawas Broncos Senior Center Lester Veigel ringed the hoops for 15 points (5 field goals and 5 free throws) in gaining game honors in a heartbreaking 3-point loss to the Strasburg Tigers.

DOVER - The Strasburg Tigers (6-0), County League and Tournament Champions, spent a bad 1st quarter, down 12-4, in their game with the Tuscarawas Broncos (3-2), jumped out of the rut in the 2nd period, came back strong in the 3rd and desperately fought off the Broncos' last minute rally.

With Lester Veigel and Junior forward Chuck Cardani leading the way, Tuscarawas grabbed a 12-4 lead at the 1st period and the Tigers hopes waned, but Junior forward John Miller flashed out to nail 6 points and lead Strasburg to a 15-15 tie at the half.  Ramon Renner and Freshman forward Garver Wallick led the Tigers through the 3rd period to a 26-16 lead, while Veigel made Tusky's only point.  With Veigel leading and aided by Strasburg giving them a field goal, the Tusky boys staged their rally, crept up to within 5 points of the Tigers and cut the margin to 3 points at the final gun.

Renner led Strasburg's scoring with 9 points, while Miller and Wallick each dropped in 8 points (3 field goals and 2 free throws each).  Tusky's star center, led their attack with 15 points, while Cardani made eight.
