35 - Sugarcreek-Shanesville By 20 Over Dundee 48-28 (2-23-35)

DOVER - Gathering momentum which in the 3rd period put them into a comfortable lead, the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates (2-0) (19-10) eliminated the Dundee Bulldogs (1-1) (10-13) by a score of 48-28.  Plucky, but unable to cope with the expert shooting of forward Hawkins, Sophomores guard Cliff Moomaw and forward John Harmon, the Bulldogs were without the services of its high scorer, Senior guard 5-10 Ott Haager, who was ejected on personal fouls in the 3rd quarter.  Seniors center Harold Arnold and guard Adelbert Ladrach of the Pirates were ejected in the 4th quarter and forward Dick Machan joined Haager of Dundee on the bench.  Sugarcreek-Shanesville was leading at the end of the 1st quarter 8-7 and continued to lead throughout the game.  They increased the lead to 18-14 by the half.  The Pirates began to coast during the 3rd quarter which ended 32-19.  In the 4th, Dundee picked up 9 more points, but Sugarcreek-Shanesville dug in for another 16 points to win going-away.
