ZANESVILLE - Head Coach Jim Roger's Tuscarawas Broncos (8-1) (24-3) set the pace for the Strasburg Tigers by cracking the Frazeysburg Red Raiders (15-8) offense effort wide open, the attacks always ending with some Tusky player sending a "sucker" shot through the hoops.  The Raiders were ahead once 7-4 in the 1st quarter, but that was the last time they were to see the lead.  The Broncos swept away to score a cool 20 points a period for the 1st two periods and then 14 and 9 for the final 2 quarters.

Handling the ball in such a manner inside the Red Raiders defense that they might as well have had a handle on it, Tuscarawas led 20-13 at the end of the 1st quarter, 40-22 at intermission and 54-32 at the 3rd stanza.  Seniors forward John Vesco and center Fred Walton rang the bell so many times for the Broncos they tired out in the final half, each getting 12 points in the 1st two periods and adding 6 more in the final half for grand totals of 18 points.  Junior guard Bill Dessecker got 10, Senior guard Jay Herning 8, Senior guard Bob French 5 and Senior forward Rich Donahue 4 points as well.  Herb Robinson led Frazeysburg with 15 markers, while fellow teammate Paul Blizzard scored 10.

Tusky didn't lose a man on fouls, but at one stage in the game it appeared as through Vesco and
Walton might both go.
