32 - Sugarcreek-Shanesville Thumps Dennison 26-10 (3-5-32)

DOVER - Shooting-wise, the Dennison Railroaders had more tough luck in this department against the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates (5-1) Saturday night than all the other teams of the tournament put together.  If they had made but a fair share of the shots which rolled around the ring and dropped off on the wrong side, it would have been Sugarcreek-Shanesville that lost the game.  The Railroaders, even with all their hard luck included, managed to get 5 action shots through the hoop.  The vanquishers made 7.

The good eyes of the Pirates' foul shooters should be given credit for that team's victory over Dennison whom they eliminated by a score of 26-10 for the margin of safety lay in the number of fouls they made.  Guard Hugo Wassem of Sugarcreek-Shanesville was the 1st and counted 6 free throws.  Guard Sylvester Harmon was as good with 4 more foul tosses.  The Pirates led all the way with the score 7-4 in the 1st quarter, 14-6 by halftime and 20-10 at the end of the 3rd period.  The Pirate defense held the Railroaders scoreless during the 4th and final quarter.  Wassem was the high point man for Sugarcreek-Shanesville with 1goal and 6 foul markers for a total of 8 points.  Dennison was led by guard Galbraith who managed 2 field goals for a total of 4 points.
