32 - Sugarcreek-Shanesville Overwhelms Tuscarawas 45-30 (2-27-32)










DOVER - The Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates (3-0) (10-6) blasted the Tuscarawas Broncos (1-1) (1-10) 45-30.  Strasburg and Sugarcreek-Shanesville easily won their way into the final tournament game Saturday afternoon at Legion Hall, by walloping Dundee and Tusky, respectively.  Sugarcreek-Shanesville began sending in members of the reserve team just after halftime and the entire reserve team was brought in at the start of the 3rd quarter to complete the contest.  As expected, the Pirates led the entire game.

Junior Forward Boyd Burkey led the Pirates with 5 field goals and one file toss for 11 points, while Senior forward Mario Besozzi led the Broncos with 4 field goals and one free throw for 9 points.  The Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates have scored at least 40 points per game in the stretch of 3 tournament games so far.
