DOVER - A scrappy band of Mineral City Tigers (0-1) (9-23) took the nod as the tournament's tough luck team as a result of losing to the Tuscarawas Broncos (1-0) (14-19) 30-28 in the final 90 seconds of their game.

Underdog in pre-game predications, the Tigers started the 1st period with an 11-11 tie, but grabbed a 21-15 point lead at the half and were still ahead 24-22 at the final quarter.  With only 4 minutes to go the Broncos tied the score at 26-all and it was tied again in the hectic last minutes as the Mineral City cagers passed up 3 free throw opportunities for possession of the ball.

Only 90 seconds were left when Ray Stull dropped in a field goal for Tusky as the Broncos took the lead for the 1st time during the game and the Mineralites were unable to retaliate.  The Tigers scored 10 action shots, but dropped in only 8 of 17 free throw attempts, while 12-year Head Coach Charmis Davis' Broncos scored 9 actions shots and dropped in 12 of 19 free tosses.

Guard Chester Houze was Mineral City's big scorer with 13 points and copped game honors, while Senior forward Ray Stull's 10 markers was high for Tusky.  The Tigers lost Chester Houze, forward Tom Smitley, center Wil Bailey and guard Ed English in the final period and the Broncos lost Junior guard Lester Meese.  A total of 18 personals were called on the losers and 14 on the winners.
