40 - Gnaden Corrals The Broncos 47-41 (2-24-40)










Gnadenhutten Indians #10 Sophomore Forward John Metzger won game honors by amassing 16 points in leading the Indians to a 47-41 victory in a Consolation Tournament game and a chance at the Consolation Championship.  Metzger is averaing 12.8 points a game.  John had his lowest game (7) and highest game (16) against Tusky.  Tuscarawas gave Gnaden their only loss in the tournament in the Indian's 2nd game...losing 32-23.


DOVER - The Gnadenhutten Indians (3-1) (23-22) led all the way to defeat the Tuscarawas Broncos (2-2) (15-21) by a score of 47-41.  Metzger was once again the Bronco's main threat before he left the game in the final period.

Gnaden took the lead in a tight 1st quarter 10-9.  In the 2nd period, the teams remained playing point-for-point as the 1st half wrapped up the scoring at 20-19.  The Indians put some breathing room between them and the Broncos with a 6 point lead in the 3rd stanza 37-31.  Tusky could not close the 6-point gap as both teams scored 10 points in the final quarter.

John Metzger led all scoring with 16 points.  Tuscarawas was led by #3 Senior center Earl Myers who copped 12 points, while fellow Tusky cager #11 forward Charles Kohler was close behind with 11 points.
