38 - Gnaden Beats-Back Tusky 33-25 (2-25-38)









DOVER - The Midvale Blue Devils and Gnadenhutten Indians came through the quarter finals of the Consolation Division of the county Class B League tournment at Memorial Hall last night and will play in the semi-finals this afternoon.  The Gnadenhutten Indians (2-1) (17-18) managed to keep ahead of their rivals the entire route and downed the Tuscarawas Broncos (1-2) (10-18) 33-25.  The Indians' shortest lead was but 1 point midway in the 2nd stanza.

The Indians leaped to a 4 point lead in the very 1st quarter 10-6.  The Broncos doubled their 1st period number of points, but Gnaden maintained their lead 15-12 roping 5 more markers.  After the halftime break, the Indians maintained their lead with an additional 5 points, while the Broncos scored but 4 markers and the score was 20-16 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  Gnadenhutten put the game in the bag in the 4th quarter with 13 points, holding Tuscarawas to 9.

Senior forward Oliver Kohl and Junior forward Leland Goettge led the Indian attack with 8 points each, while the Broncos were led by Senior forward Joe Bollini with 9 points wrapping up scoring honors for the night.
