36 - Bolivar's Class Hits 26 Against Baltic 50-30 (2-21-36)

The 1936 Baltic Eagles:  SEATED - Rollie Eiler, Verden McQueen, Harry Lower, Dick Regula and Ward Lahm.  STANDING - Head Coach Paul Scheetz (2nd Year), Adrain Gerber, Bob Lint, Wilson Eckert, Harry Regula, Walter Swihart and Ken Burger, student manager, friend and trainer.

DOVER - Topping even the unusual exhibition of New Philadelphia's Jimmy Reiser in a Dover game a week ago, the shooting demonstration of Senior center Paul Class of Bolivar, as he led the Bolivar Cardinals (1-0) (16-12) to an easy 50-30 victory over the Baltic Eagles (0-1) (10-15), was the most remarkable Legion Hall has witnessed in years.  Scoring a high percentage of his shots and without taking a single heave that he wasn't entitled to, Class poured 8 field goals and 10 free throws through the hoop for a total of 26 points.

He scored 22 of the 26 points in the 1st half and then dropped from the scoring attempts until the final period when the Eagles looked like it might threaten the Bolivar long lead.  There Class moved back to his pivot post and dropped in 2 more action shots.  The Cardinals led the Eagles 14-6, 34-9 and 40-19 at the period ends.  Sophomore forward Rollie Eiler dropped in 10 points (4 field goals and 2 free throws), Junior Ward Lahm hit for 9 points (4 field goals and a free throw) and Sophomore Dick Regula contributed 8 points (3 field goals and 2 free throws) for the Eagles.
