DOVER - Drawings for the Eastern Ohio Sectional Class B Basketball Tournament, which will be staged at Legion Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, were held at the hall last night under supervision of E. W. Blackstone, Tournament Manager.  Nineteen teams are entered.  Tuscarawas County placed teams in each of the 4 brackets with 2 appearing in the 1st and 2 in the third.  The Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates, Strasburg Tigers and Dundee Bulldogs, the 3 representative of the county Class B school system, all drew in different brackets.  The Dennison Railroaders are in the same division as Sugarcreek-Shanesville and the Newcomerstown Trojans are in with Strasburg.

Only 6 teams will play in the 1st round with the other 13 drawing "byes."  In the top bracket, which contains one bye, Dennison plays the Lakeville Panthers of Holmes County on Thursday at 5PM; Mt. Pleasant of Jefferson Couny plays the Malvern Green Hornets of Carroll County Thursday at 6PM; Walnut Creek of Holmes County plays Freeport of Harrison County at 7PM and the winner of that game plays Sugarcreek-Shanesvlle which drew the one "bye" Friday at 6PM.  In the 2nd bracket, the Scio Panthers plays Coshocton Sacred Heart Thursday at 8PM and the Millersburg Knights
plays the Dover St. Joseph Ramblers Thursday at 9PM with the winners of the 2 games playing the final on Saturday at 3PM.  In the 3rd bracket, Strasburg plays the Carrollton Warriors on Friday at 7PM and the West Lafayette Generals plays Newcomerstown Friday at 8PM with the winners playing the final on Saturday at 7:30PM.  In the 4th bracket, Dundee plays Cadiz on Friday at 9PM and Amsterdam of Jefferson County plays Sherrodsville at 10PM with the winners playing Saturday at 8:30PM in the final.  The schedule, as outlined above, calls for 5 games on Thursday beginning at 5PM and 6 games on Friday beginning at 5PM, with the final 4 games set for Saturday.

The drawing was free without any teams being ceded.  "Ike" Boone, who worked the county tournament last week with Earl Gross and Jimmy Robinson, both of Canton, will referee all games.  Admission prices will be 25 cents for students and 40 cents for adults to each session.  The 4 winning teams will draw at Dennison next Monday night with the 4 qualifying teams from the Eastern Ohio Southern Section, which plays its elimination games at Caldwell this week on Tuesday.
