26 - Sugarcreek-Shanesville Blows Off Tuscarawas 29-14







DOVER - The second game of the morning was between the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates and the Tuscarawas Broncos.  Tuscarawas High School put up a mean battle against Sugarcreek-Shanesville High School.  The Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates (1-0) (4-1) chased down the Tuscarawas Broncos (0-1) (0-4) to gain a berth in the semi-finals in the end.  The Broncos have yet to win  a game in tournament play.  The Gnadenhutten Indians will now take on the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates for a berth in the final championship game.

Sugarcreek-Shanesville's forward Moomaw led all scorers swishing 7 field goals for 14 points.  Senior Oliver Watson and Sophomore Harlan Sliffe both had 3 field goals for 6 points each.  Junior Bob Neff followed that with a field goal and file shot for 3 additional points that closed out the scoring for the Pirates.  Warren Schumacher led the Tuscarawas Broncos in scoring with 6 points, with 2 field goals and 2 foul shots.  Ralph Schumacher followed Warren with a field goal and 3 foul shots for 5 points.  Meade, Marcalletti and Sophomore Bob Zorn each had 1 foul shot for 1 point each, while the team is forced out of yet another tournament.
