25 - Sugarcreek In Semi-Finals At Cambridge





DOVER - The Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates will represent Tuscarawas County at the Semi-Final Basketball Tournament of the Eastern District of the Ohio High School Athletic Association which is to be held in Cambridge on Friday and Saturday, March 13th and 14th.  Twelve county champions have entered the tournament, Sugarcreek being rated by officials as among the 6 most probable to play in the finals.  The entries are:

Bethesda
Caldwell
Carrollton
McConnelsville
Marietta
Mingo Junction
Muskingum Academy
Pleasant City
Roseville
Sugarcreek
Toronto
Woodsville

Drawings will be made at 12PM Friday and the 1st round will start at 3PM.  The tournament play will be completed Saturday night.  H.H. Dunlap of Columbus, well-known Ohio Conference official will be referee-in-chief of the tourney.  All games will be played at the McMahon Gymnasium.  J.R. Hobson, facility manager at Brown High, Cambridge is manager of the tournament.

The winner will represent the Eastern District at the State Tournament at Columbus on March 20th and 21st.
