33 - Baltic Eliminates Midvale 32-27 (2-23-33)

DOVER - Other teams in the tournament let go a sign of relief when the Baltic Eagles (1-0) (3-7) eliminated the Midvale Blue Devils (0-1) (8-5) by a score of 32-27 in the closest game on tap last night.  Midvale, long known as an upsetter, was considered the meeting's "Dark Horse."  The Eagles piled up an 8-point lead in the 1st half last night, but the Blue Devils cut it to 7 as the 3rd period ended and then cut it another 2 in the final canto with frantic efforts to rally out of defeat.

Baltic led 12-7, 22-14 and 30-23 at the period ends.  Forward Abbuhl of Midvale was the high scorer of the game with 10 points.  He was followed by Senior forward Henry Haas and Sophomore guard Paul Levengood of the Eagle team.  Both the latter had 8 markers.
