31 - Midvale Swamps Port 36-13 (2-27-31)

DOVER - Midvale's Blue Devils (1-0) (5-3) made a great impression on tournament fans by taking their initial victory over the Port Washington Eagles (0-1) (2-5) in easy fashion.  The win was by 23 points and the Blue Devils at no time was in danger of losing the verdict.  Midvale, working tip-off plays, chalked up 10 points before the Flyers scored.  Forward Dick Murphy of Port kept his team from being whitewashed in the initial period by caging a goal one-half minute before the 1st gun cracked.

The play of forward P. Stevenson featured Midvale's attack, while forwards Cliff Welsch and Murphy looked best for Port Washington.  Midvale led all the way at 12-2 in the 1st quarter, 18-5 at the half and 28-12 after the 3rd quarter.  P. Stevenson of Midvale led all scorers with 8 points, 3 field goals and 2 foul tosses, while Port's guard John Hammersley hit for 6 points, 1 field goal and 4 foul shots.
